The following Bible verses outline reasons why you should not let anyone steal your joy.
Psalm 5:11
“But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You; let them ever shout for joy because You defend them; let those also who love Your name be joyful in You.”
This passage urges you to rejoice because the God in whom you have put your trust has promised to defend you from all who attack you.
Psalm 16:11
“You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
As a believer, God is always present with you. This is according to the words of Jesus in John 14:23, which says
“Jesus answered and said to him, If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and Make Our home with him.’”
You should therefore be joyful at all times because, after getting saved, you remain in God’s presence forevermore.
Psalm 30:5
“For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
As believers, there are times when we fall into sin after being enticed by the flesh, the world, and Satan. Whenever this happens, we should remember to confess our sins and ask for forgiveness. Since His anger is not forever, God forgives us and restores His joy in us.
Psalm 32:11
“Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous, and shout for joy, all you upright in heart!”
As a believer, this passage urges you to shout for joy because of your upright heart.
Psalm 33:3
“Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a shout of joy.”
According to this passage, as a believer, the Bible urges you to sing a new song and remain joyful regardless of your circumstances.
Psalm 35:27
“Let them shout for joy and be glad, who favor my righteous cause; and let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.’”
This passage urges believers to remain joyful because they favor the cause of the righteous.
Psalm 40:16
“But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, Great is the LORD!’”
According to this passage, all who seek God will have joy and gladness of heart.
Psalm 43:4
“Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy; and on the harp I will praise You, O God, my God.”
This passage reminds the believer to praise God with the harp because God is his exceeding joy.
Psalm 51:8
“Make me hear joy and gladness, that the bones You have broken may rejoice.”
In this scripture, the writer urges every believer to remain joyful so that his broken bones may be healed.
Psalm 51:12
“Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, and uphold me by Your generous Spirit.”
Just like King David asked God to restore the joy of His salvation after the Bathsheba incident, we as believers should emulate him and ask the same from God whenever we fall into sin.
Psalm 67:4
“Oh, let the nations be glad and sing for joy! For You shall judge the people righteously and govern the nations on earth.”
This passage urges believers to remain joyful because of the soon-to-be established reign of righteousness by the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
Psalm 68:3
“But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before God; Yes, let them rejoice exceedingly.”
This passage urges believers to remain joyful and glad every time they stand before the God of the earth.
Psalm 126:5

This passage urges believers to continue sowing seeds of righteousness because, in due time, they will reap a good harvest.
Psalm 132:9
“Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Your saints shout for joy.”
Ecclesiastes 2:26
“For God gives wisdom, knowledge, and joy to a man who is good in His sight; but to the sinner He gives the work of gathering and collecting, that he may give to him who is good before God. This is also vanity and grasping for the wind.”
From this passage, we learn that believers should remain joyful because it is God’s gift to them.
Ecclesiastes 9:7
“Go, eat your bread with joy, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already accepted your works.”
Here, believers are urged to remain joyful because God has accepted their work.
Isaiah 12:3
Therefore, with joy, you will draw water from the wells of salvation.”
In this passage, the prophet Isaiah encourages God’s people to remain joyful because He has granted them the ability to draw water from the wells of salvation. This signifies the outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon His people.
Isaiah 61:3
“To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.”
Believers should remain joyful because, according to the above scripture, Jesus Christ came on earth to bring joy to those who mourn.
Isaiah 65:14
“Behold, My servants shall sing for joy of heart, but you shall cry for sorrow of heart and wail for grief of spirit.”
Here, the prophet Isaiah reminds God’s people to remain joyful because of the glad tidings that God has prepared for them in the age to come.

In this scripture, Jesus Christ urges His disciples to remain joyful because, in a short while, their sorrow will be turned to joy at His appearance.
John 16:22
“Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.”
Here, Jesus urged His disciples to remain joyful because, at God’s appointed time, He would return and take them home.
John 16:24
“Until now, you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.”
In this passage, Jesus informs His disciples to remain joyful because whatever they ask of Him, He will do it.
Acts 2:28
“You have made known to me the ways of life; You will make me full of joy in Your presence.”
Another reason why the people of God must walk in joy is because He has made known to them the way that leads to life eternal.
Romans 14:17
“For the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”
This passage teaches us to walk in joy because it is one of the main virtues identified with the kingdom of God.
Romans 15:13
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
According to this passage, God’s people should walk in joy because of the hope that the Holy Spirit has bestowed on them regarding the coming kingdom of God.
Galatians 5:22

Every believer should have joy because it is one of the several fruits the Holy Spirit bestows on born-again people.
1 John 1:4
“And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.”
The things Apostle John is talking about in this passage relate to God’s plan to save mankind through His Son, Jesus Christ. This message of salvation for mankind is what the Apostle John believes should make us joyful all the time as we wait for the manifestation of the sons of God.
I hope this was helpful. May the Joy of the Lord be your strength. Shalom.
